Carpenter bees are large flying insects that are most active from early spring all throughout summer. Similar to other types of bees carpenters are responsible for pollinating flowers and plants. However their ability to sting and build nests close to home poses a significant threat to homeowners. Identifying the right type of bee and understanding its habits will help residents determine how to correctly control these vibrantly colored insects. Giant resin bees bumblebees are carpenters are some of the heftiest types of bees. The three have a number of physical similarities which makes it difficult to tell them apart.
