Rat control, also referred to as deratisation in some areas, is an important task. While people manage to live in relative peace with certain animal and insect species, this is not possible with rats. Throughout history and even into modern times rats have gotten a bad reputation. Due to a little piece of history known as the Black Plague they have been associated with disease and considered to be filthy animals all around. The term ‘rat’ is even used to denote someone who is dishonest. These animals have much more going for them than most people realize however.The most common types of rats known to most people are the brown and black varieties though they come in a great variety of colors and patterns.
